Read Acts 1 v1-11. The book of Acts marks a new beginning. Luke wrote his gospel about the life and work of Jesus. In the beginning of Acts, Luke tells us that now Jesus was about to ascend into heaven, and His life and work would continue in His other body, the church! He now became not only Jesus the friend and the One who sacrificed His life: He became the ascended Christ who has the right to lead our lives, because He is recognised as God the Almighty.
The receiving of the Holy Spirit is so vital that Jesus said the disciples must not leave Jerusalem without Him. They wait, and the Holy Spirit comes,
In the verses from Acts 4, God challenges the disciples to a lifestyle of sharing possessions and we read that there were no needy people among them – incredible! God calls his people to a life of harvesting what we have and who we are for him on a daily basis. So how can we live harvest lives?
